UPCOMING EVENTS
Direct communication skills are the foundation to strong leadership and effective teams. But with all the changes in today’s work environment (hybrid and remote workers; changing demographics, generational preferences, and an increasingly diverse workforce; advancement of different communication channels) and with the increasingly important conversations that leaders need to have with their workers, how do leaders promote and ensure effective communication with their teams?
IQC — in partnership with The Performance Excellence Network and the Wisconsin Center for Performance Excellence and the Iowa Quality Center — is pleased to host an online webinar discussion on Thursday, June 13: “Rumble Skills: Improving Leadership by Improving Communication.” The discussion will be facilitated by Holly O’Hanlon and Molly Conlin Peterson, both of The Daring Venture Team, an evidence-based executive coaching and leadership firm.
In this discussion, Holly & Molly will challenge participants to stay with the “messy middle,” be fearless in owning your part of the dialogue and listen with the same passion as you want to be heard in tough conversations. Learn “rumble starters skills” to approach difficult conversations with new language and curiosity. Identify your communication strengths and areas for growth in giving engaged feedback and recognize your own defensiveness in feedback conversations.
