Manufacturers are the basis behind our economy. Through the production of products manufacturers and their employees support all other sectors.  Small manufacturers represent a high percentage of the Iowa Quality Center membership and use many of the resources and training to enrich their organization. Manufacturing has been instrumental in deploying the tools of lean, six sigma, theory of constraints and basic quality tools as part of their philosophy and can become mentors for the other sectors that are in the early stages of adopting the concepts. Although many of the organizations have adopted the tools and methodologies of quality it is the systematic approach to continuously improving the organization that will lead to sustainability for the future.

Those organizations that remain satisfied to be “good” will be left behind if a focus on innovation and creativity are left out of the organizational.  Therefore, the Iowa Quality Center endorses a systematic assessment of the leadership system and the organization through a performance framework to recognize gaps and strengths that can be addressed in the journey from “good” to “great.” The Iowa Quality Center can assist your organization in the assessment, improvement and deployment of the quality methodologies that will lead to sustainability of your organization.
