February 2012 Steve Hershner, City of Cedar Rapids Utility Environmental Manager and Jim Hodina, Linn County Public Health, will be presenting about Cedar Rapids energy issues and the Iowa Greenhouse Gas Inventory October 2011: Community Involvement with Stephan Kuhl, National Weather Service There was a record-breaking amount of natural disasters in the United States this past year. The National Weather Service has begun a "Weather-Ready" campaign to create a society that is prepared for, and responds to, extreme weather events. This presentation will focus on how the Quad Cities Weather Forecast Offices' direct involvement with communities they serve helps educate and prepare them for extreme weather events.
