Internship Position Description
1. Overview of Responsibilities: The Intern would play a key role in marketing by seeking out activities of the IQC, and through creation of materials and engaging and targeted news topics, bring that information in a timely manner to members and the general public. Topics are based on the application of performance excellence and continuous quality improvement, such as Malcolm Baldrige, Lean and Six Sigma (including Kaizen), ISO, and systems thinking,
Anticipated projects include:
• Work with IQC staff to prepare & maintain list of service offerings and users and priority list of projects.
• Prepare and write articles and news releases and use digital imaging to cover topics from:
• IQC assessments/consulting and events
• Learning Networks
• IRPE program
• Improvement methods, tools, and resources available
• Membership experiences
• Assist with electronic posting of news topics to IQC web-site and other outlets, including e-notifications to membership:
• IQC web-site, Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn
• IQC affiliations (ASQ, IPHA/IEHA, IHA, Business Corridor, etc)
• Gazette on-line, and other media sources
• Brochures and fact sheets
• Develop repository for data and information.
• Research and recommend other methods for marketing and provide feedback when available on opportunities including promotion, digital marketing, and branding.
• Prepare a monthly report of current and completed projects. Present at monthly IQC advisory Council meetings.
• Attend IQC staff and IQC Network meetings.
2. Begin and End Dates: Academic school year Aug 2011-May 2012

Average number of hours/week expected: 8-10 hrs/wk
Will the Intern need to work on-site? Yes
Is working off-site (remote/telecommuting) possible? Yes (May be possible for second semester)
3. Requirements: Must be at least a college/university junior or higher
4. Desired Skills: Inquisitive, with strong communication and writing skills. Proficient use of Microsoft Office or equivalent. Good working knowledge of social media (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc).
